For our Hot Topics webinars, IVETA is pleased to work with Skillman.eu. We are part of the SkillNet Alliance, a project that is co-funded by the European Union Erasmus+ programme.
Technology has advanced to such an extent that it brings new possibilities to education, from the perspective of both teaching and learning.
Now that the Industrial Revolution has given way to Industry 4.0, it is no longer enough just to be using computers for word-processing or accessing the Internet. As educators, we have to constantly see how we can harness technology to enhance teaching and learning.
The advent of Artificial Intelligence (AI) provides a new frontier of exploration (and exploitation) to push the boundaries of what is possible in educating our next generations.

Dr Julie Furst-Bowe
Dr. Julie Furst-Bowe was the academic vice president at Chippewa Valley Technical College, a college in the Wisconsin Technical College System (USA) that serves approximately 20,000 students per year. She has been a senior leader in higher education for more than 20 years, and has written numerous articles and given numerous presentations on quality improvement through the use of systems thinking and educational technology in career and technical education. Julie earned her doctorate in workforce education from the University of Minnesota (USA).

Antonio Fernandez Perez
Antonio Fernandez Perez is an EdTech expert with dilated experience in the digitalization of welding training using AR/VR across +70 countries. He is also director of Business & Partnerships at Seabery Augmented Training.
Kimberly Ernstmeyer
Kim is a certified healthcare simulation educator (CHSE) passionate about using simulation to develop students’ clinical judgment. She led the ARISE project team, creating 150 augmented-reality simulations available on Skills Commons. The ARISE project won second place in the Serious Games and Virtual Arcades competition at the International Meeting on Simulation in Healthcare (IMSH) in 2018. Kim currently leads the Open RN project, funded by a $2.5 million Department of Education grant, creating five OER textbooks and 25 virtual reality simulations. Kim has presented at several international conferences, including IMSH, INACSL, NLN, Achieve the Dream, OpenEd, and OE Global.
Janis Hermanis
Experienced Lecturer with a demonstrated history of working in the education management industry. Skilled in Microsoft Excel, Analytical Skills, Lecturing, Organizational Development, and Public Speaking. Strong education professional graduated from Latvijas Universitate / University of Latvia.
