Despite being a young professional, I have already dedicated over a decade of my career to driving positive change in education, gender equality, and youth empowerment. My journey has been fueled by a passion for making a tangible difference in the lives of others, and I believe that my energy, fresh perspective, and dedication are exactly what IVETA needs.
In my role as an Accreditation and Quality Assurance Specialist at the TEVET Authority in Malawi, I have gained invaluable experience in understanding the intricacies of educational frameworks and the importance of maintaining high standards. I have successfully led initiatives that have improved regulatory frameworks, ensured compliance with national standards, and uplifted the quality of vocational education for countless learners. My commitment to education goes beyond processes; it is about empowering individuals to reach their full potential.
I believe that my strategic vision, combined with my practical experience in project management and policy development, uniquely positions me to serve as a transformative leader within IVETA. If elected as Vice President, I will leverage my skills in engaging diverse stakeholders, fostering meaningful collaborations, and securing essential resources to strengthen our organization's impact and expand its global reach.

Brief Bio: Bahati Grace Chauma is an innovative and dedicated social and economic development expert with over a decade of experience across various sectors, including education, human rights, gender advocacy, research, policy development, media, and community development. Her professional journey has been deeply rooted in advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in promoting quality education, gender equality, and decent work and economic growth.
Currently serving as an Accreditation and Quality Assurance Specialist at the TEVET Authority in Malawi, Bahati has been instrumental in facilitating the registration and accreditation processes for over 300 Technical, Entrepreneurial, Vocational Education and Training (TEVET) providers across the country. Her role involves conducting quality audits, developing strategic plans, and ensuring compliance with national educational standards. Her leadership has significantly contributed to enhancing the regulatory framework and improving the overall quality of TEVET programs in Malawi.
In addition to her work with TEVET, Bahati serves as the Country Ambassador for the Future Leaders Alliance. In this role, she advocates for youth leadership development, engaging with local stakeholders, directing leadership programs, and securing funding to support various initiatives aimed at empowering young leaders in Malawi.
Bahati's commitment to social development is further demonstrated by her previous roles, including her tenure as Resource Mobilization and Project Coordinator for the African Women Honors and Empowerment. Here, she coordinated projects focused on adolescent and youth sexual and reproductive health, conducted gender-based research, and managed project budgets to ensure the effective delivery of services. Her work in this area has been pivotal in addressing gender dynamics and promoting gender equality within the context of sexual and reproductive health rights.
Her experience also extends to her time as an Investigations and Research Officer at the Office of the Ombudsman in Malawi, where she investigated cases of maladministration and conducted systemic investigations. Her ability to analyze data and prepare detailed reports has been essential in informing policy and driving systemic improvements within public institutions.
Bahati's academic background includes a Master of Science in Development Studies (with Distinction) from the National University of Sciences and Technology in Pakistan and a Bachelor of Social Science in Economics and Sociology (with Credit) from the University of Malawi. Her educational achievements are complemented by several prestigious awards, including the Pakistan Higher Education Commission Commonwealth Scholarship and the Mandela Washington Fellowship.
Bahati's extensive experience, coupled with her passion for education, gender equality, and youth empowerment, positions her as a dynamic leader capable of driving positive change in the vocational education and training sector at both national and international levels..
