
Dear members, it is that time again when you have to elect your representatives for the IVETA Executive Committee. Read on to see how you can take part.
What are the Elections?
- Held every second year.
- 10 positions: We are looking to elect the 9 regional Vice-Presidents and a President-Elect to steer IVETA.
- 2-year commitment: All candidates understand that being elected requires a 2-year commitment for the term.
- President-Elect: Candidates for this role must commit to 6 years of service (2 years as President-Elect, 2 years as President, and 2 years as Immediate Past-President).
- Open to any member: You can nominate any member in good standing for a position, but you cannot nominate yourself. President-Elect candidates must have previously served on the Executive Committee in some capacity. You should inform the person you are nominating and seek their consent before doing so.
Election Procedures
- Executive Committee members may serve a maximum of 2 consecutive terms.
- Nominations are submitted.
- Nominees are vetted by the Executive Secretariat for eligibility.
- The Electoral Committee will select candidates for each office.
- Voting begins.
- Votes counted and verified by Executive Secretariat.
- Results announced at our Annual Business Meeting (ABM).
