WORLD YOUTH SKILLS DAY 2024 IVETA PRESIDENT-ELECT AFFIRMS HIS COMMITMENT TO TRANSFORM TVET IN AFRICA AND BEYOND: CALLS ON YOUTHS ORGANIZATIONS TO EMBRACE TVET

In commiseration of the World Youths Skills Day 2024, Serumu Igberadja the President-Elect of the International Vocational Education and Training Association (IVETA) affirmed his commitment to transform TVET Programs for youths development in Africa and beyond through IVETA Transformative and Strategic Projects to promote, advance, and improve TVET programs for sustainable development and livelihood.

Serumu Igberadja promised to collaborate with other international organizations, government agencies, national governments, diplomatic missions, scholarship boards, TVET equipment manufacturers, universities, polytechnics, technical colleges,and philanthropic organizations to equip youths with sellable vocational skills needed in today’s world of work.

the IVETA President-Elect called on all TVET stakeholders and youths’ organizations to embrace TVET to address unemployment, poverty, illegal migration, prostitution, high rate of crime amongst youths.

He commended the UNESCO UNEVOC for leading the way in transforming TVET through their different improvements programmes for TVET stakeholders. He further applauded the contribution of World Skills International for making TVET sellable globally through the implementation of skills competitions in vocational trades to promote TVET, as well as empowering youths’ for sustainable livelihood and economic development. He expressed the need for all nations in Africa to join the World Skills International being a notable network for skills development.
