Rarely are we faced with an opportunity to change a longstanding national system.
The time has come for EACH and EVERY ONE of US to do so when it comes to DOL Registered Apprenticeship Programs (RAPs) in the USA. Note: This rule known as 29CFR29 (Fitzgerald Act) has NOT seen a substantial update since 1937! Nearly all RAPs (post-secondary TVET) already deliver First Aid/CPR/AED and OSHA-10 safey courses…which cover the PHYSICAL aspects of safety. So, why not insist on covering the MENTAL aspects of safety? The time has come!
ACTION NEEDED:
BEFORE next Monday, March 18, 2024 (deadline is 5p ET), I ask that “you” (no matter your domicile) submit a comment that supports a requirement to include no less than 1 hour of Mental Health training in RAPs going forward.
